The Lumbini International Centre for Buddhist Studies is a non-governmental, research-oriented, and comprehensive institution for Buddhist research and academic exchange, located in Lumbini, Nepal, the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism, and one of the world’s most important Buddhist sacred sites. It is dedicated to the study of Buddhist scriptures, Buddhist philosophical thought, Buddhist art and culture, and the relationship between Buddhism and contemporary social issues. The center is committed to promoting the internationalization of Buddhist studies and academic exchange, fostering the development of social and human sciences on an international scale, and fulfilling the important mission of inheriting and promoting Buddhist culture.
